26th National Children’s Month

National Children’s Month is celebrated throughout on November in recognition of the Convention on the Right of the Children (CRC) which was ratified by most State Parties last November 20, 1989 and the Philippines is one of them. This year’s theme: “Isulong Tamang Pag Aaruga Para sa Lahat ng Bata”.


26th National Family Week

LGU Candelaria, Quezon joins the observance of this significant event aiming to convene the family from the proletarian level to instill values as well as the sacredness of strong family. This activity is one of the best ways to remind us of the importance of our family in our lives and the vital role of families play in community wellbeing.


Capacity Building of Barangay MOVE Desk Officers

In line with this, the MOVE Candelaria Chapter issued a resolution which strongly recommending to honor, Mayor Macario D. Boongaling, the creation of Men Opposed to Violence Against Women Help Desks in every barangay hall of the Municipality of Candelaria, Quezon. With the approval of such, those MOVE Desk Officers-Designate must undergo a seminar/training/workshop in order for them to be equipped with knowledge and expertise in handling VAWC cases, thus this design.


Gender Sensitivity Training- KALIPI & Day Care Parents

More recently, the government has responded to the need to provide funds for gender and development activities. Gender and Development activities have been mandated for all agencies of the government. Local Budget Memorandum Circular 1992-32 mandates Local Government Units (LGUs0 to “allocate a minimum of 5% of the local LGU budget for projects designed to address gender issues”. The government has also identified Gender and Development plans to their budget proposals.
